What is Anaerobic Exercise?

The aerobic exercises such as jogging or biking are long-term, low-intensity and benefit the cardiovascular system, respiratory and metabolic.

On the other hand, anaerobic exercises are focused on developing the strength and endurance. With these exercises, you can build muscles, increase your power of contraction and stimulate mineralization of your bones.

Within the anaerobic exercises, we have three types of training:

  • With the same body weight. Consists stimulate muscle mass through movements based on laws of the functional anatomy and biomechanics to develop strength, coordination, balance and control your body.
  • With machines force. Exercise every part of the body separately and concentrate on it. You can set limits and enjoy a good level of security, but does not allow you to detect if you are working for a few more blocks than others are are, nor work balance.
  • With bars and free weights. Although not as comfortable or safe, these exercises allow you to work coordination, balance and detect whether there are differences between the functional capacities of each segment of your body. They require prior preparation and the supervision of a coach.
