Menopause is a normal condition that all women experience as they age. The term “menopause” is commonly used to describe any of the changes a woman experiences either just before or after she stops menstruating, marking the end of her reproductive period.

During menopause a woman’s body is changing. Many women sail through menopause without any problems. However many do not and suffer from one or several of the symptoms associated with menopause such as hot flashes, night sweats, headache, insomnia, depression, weight gain, anxiety and sleep problems. The good news is that things do get better, the bad that it takes a while and you have to really take care of yourself if you want to continue to feel fit and young.

Hormone replacement therapy is one of the ways to relieve menopausal symptoms. But women are increasingly seeking natural alternatives to hormone replacement therapy. A lot of women have tried to find some medicines to relieve their menopause symptoms but sometimes they have had absolutely no effect on them and instead they then turn their attentions to herbal remedies.

Herbs have been uses for many diseases in the past and are becoming more prevalent. They are also coming to light in this day and age. Many are finding that nature can provide us with satisfying remedies.

What works?

There are a lot of herbs and other treatments that can be used but some have not had so much luck with some women. Sometimes it can seem like a bit of hit and miss when it comes to the right herbs for menopause. But this is mainly due to the fact that every woman is totally different from one to another and if you are going to get the right herbs for your body then you have do some investigating.

Some women have luck with vitamins. It seems that vitamin E is able to help women with hot flashes but they should not use it to combat menopause symptoms. Red clover is now being used widely to combat menopause symptoms. Red clover contains a hormone-like substance and this has been known to help curb some of the symptoms.
